Beatrice Thornton Triptych

Beatrice Thornton is a photographer living and working in Oakley California. This triptych was taken during time spent hiking the Carmel valley and was developed in the darkroom on matte fiber paper using artist-made  botanical chemistry derived from plants foraged along the hike. Each photo is a double exposure of the same ridge from a distance and a close up of the environment along her walk. The image of the ridge repeats and and is assembled continuously and framed to mimic the act of climbing the ridge in a stepped, lap joined walnut frame with a light graphite finish and Optium anti-reflective plex.
